What is the Role?

The School is seeking to appoint a dedicated and experienced School Counsellor for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. One day a week (0.2 FTE) is a permanent placement with Junior School, and one day a week (0.2 FTE) is a temporary contract to the end of 2023 for the Gawura School for First Nations students. Both positions commence Term 3, 2023.

Who will the successful applicant be?

Hold current registration with the Australian Psychologist's Registration Board
Provide counselling and personal support for Junior School students who are experiencing some form of need, personal difficulty or crisis in accordance with the School’s Christian context
Respond to student needs through the provision of short term counselling
Assess and if needed, refer students for further investigation by health professionals
Provide support for students, parents and staff by enabling them to work together in the interests of the student.

Though not essential, experience in counselling First Nations students would be an advantage.

Prior to employment at the School, this position requires the successful applicant to have:
