Who we are

Step Ahead Psychology is a unique private practice that has clinics in Wollongong and Forbes. Our psychologists currently provide psychological services to both children and adults.

Drawing on our experiences of working in different organisations and settings, we decided to create a practice that takes into account where people might feel most comfortable. Offering in-clinic, outdoor and telehealth services, we pride ourselves on our flexible and individually tailored approach that supports clients to get the most out of their sessions in an environment that works for them.

The Opportunity

Due to current demand, we are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Psychologists (Clinical or Registered) to join our team in Forbes, Central West NSW (in-clinic/outdoor team). We welcome experienced and early career psychologists.

Passionate about holistic approaches and the role of physical health, exercise and being outdoors in mental wellbeing
Comfortable working with a wide range of presentations and populations (including children, couples and families) in an independent setting
Full time or part time (minimum 2 days per week - flexible distribution available)

Admin support: Our friendly administrative team supports Psychologists with managing phone calls, bookings, rescheduling, and managing payments.
Referral base: we have a strong referral base and maintain good relationships with those that refer to our service. Our administration support will help make sure your diary runs as efficiently as possible.

Applicants may be eligible for relocation and further study grants through NSW Rural Doctors Network

Requirements:

Fully registered or waiting on full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Have or can obtain a Medicare Provider registration
Have or can obtain a Working with Children’s Check, Police Check
Willing to work outdoors
Australian Resident

About Forbes, Central West NSW

Forbes is a town located on the Lachlan river in Central West NSW between Parkes and West Wyalong. Known for its beautiful parks, gardens and riverside walks, it is a perfect place for outdoor walk and talk therapy. The township has a strong sense of community with many music, cultural and community events organised throughout the year. Forbes is about an hour from Orange and 2 hours from Dubbo.

This role would suit a person or family willing to relocate, or living in a nearby area willing to travel.
